Nirmala Memorial Foundation was established by Mr. Thakorbhai N. Desai, an educationalist who worked as a teacher, the Principal for more than 25 years, in the memory of her wife Mrs. Nirmala T. Desai, who was a teacher by profession and expired in a road accident.

Nirmala Memorial Foundation is a registered public trust under Bombay Public Trust Act 1950 and Society Act. Foundation is working in the field of education since 1984.

It has started with a Primary Vernacular (Gujrati) Medium School in slum pocket of Mumbai in the year 1984. Since then the Foundation is developing its educational activities.

After having full fledged high school in the year 1999 it has started Junior College of Commerce, then in the year 2000, it has started Junior College of Science.

In the year 2003 Foundation has started Degree College of Commerce affiliated to University of Mumbai.

All the development from 1984 to 2003, was in rental premises. In the year 2003, Foundation got a plot measuring 2036.20 sq. mts. from Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai, where Foundation has constructed ground plus four floors.
